Providing proper care for your lawn is something that will occupy you throughout the year. It may, however, be a little bit more important for you to pay slightly close attention to your lawn during the spring time. With this in mind, these very simple lawn care tips should help you maintain and grow your lawn very nicely during the spring time.
When your lawn comes out from the other side of winter you won’t necessarily know how it is going to appear. It could be green and lush or it can be very barren with dry patches everywhere. This, thankfully, shouldn’t be too much of a problem as springtime is perfect to reseed and re-grow your lawn.
It’s certainly very important to you to make sure that once you have put down any new seeds or sod that you ensure you provide plenty of water to your lawn throughout the week. Of course, if there is plenty of rain around then this won’t be too much of a problem, but if not you will need to make sure that you out there providing all the water that it needs.
It’s not necessarily going to be a very good idea for you to fertilise your lawn during the spring time. The reason for this is because the nitrogen present within the fertiliser is likely to make the blades of grass grow more quickly than the roots. As such the roots aren’t going to take hold properly and this can lead to problems when summer turns up and the roots aren’t able to conserve sufficient amounts of water.
Most people do struggle with the weeds at any time of year, and the same is certainly true during the spring time. Of course, there are plenty of different weedkiller products that you can use to help you out and as such you should try to find something appropriate to keep the weeds away as your lawn regrows.
If you do take the steps then you should have no problem in maintaining your lawn nicely.
