When looking to add some extra flair to your room, get a cheap rug. Now, hear me out first! Rugs, carpets and mats are just accessories that are not noticed nearly as much as the rest of the room. You will be able to get by with a cheaper rug without others noticing.
So why are rugs such a big deal? Why do people need to spend hundreds of dollars on one item of decor? Although a brightly colored rug that stands out will in fact draw attention, it is unnecessary.
Instead of spending a lot of money on an area rug, just get a cheaper one that will accent the room and complement the house decor.

A word to the wise, however; If purchasing a used rug make sure it is cleaned very well, as you dot want to bring home any bugs in the rug or dirt you don’t need in your house, play It safe.
For an added decorating twist, consider the use of rug runners. They come in a variety of materials to be made in such as sisal and silk and withal the various designs you can’t go wrong.
Now do not go too cheap with these. Since the rug runners are in plain sight and one of the highlights in a hallway or in a space away from furniture, it is important to have it look nice.
