HELP!!!!!! How do I DE-PACKRAT a large home????
I am helping my daughters family pack for a move out of state. They leave in 2 weeks and have a LOT of stuff. We are having a yard sale next weekend. Fortunately, the weather will remain hot and sunny for the duration so we can use the yard for sorting. A professional moving company will be packing so nothing can be packed by the family. Also, any garage sale tips will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! An OVERWHELMED MOM AND DAUGHTER!!!!!!
Take your cue from Clean Sweep on TLC. I love that show. Start with one large pile with everything from a couple of rooms. Sort into Trash, Sell, and Keep. Resort the keep pile when you think you are done and try to cut it down by half.
Also, check out FlyLady’s webpage. www.flylady.net She has many useful tips for decluttering. Best of all, she’s free! Of course, she advises to donate instead of sell, but since you are planning a yard sale, anyway, might as well make a profit from all your hard work.
